Each gathering will happen at a different community location and will feature small group discussions that help us get to know each other better.
Organizers will request a typical donation of $5 per person (subject to change pending material costs). The businesses who are hosting or providing food are doing so partly as a donation to the effort of Building Bridges in our community; please thank them and support them!

Building Bridges Book Group: on Deepa Iyer's Book Social Change Now
Saline’s Building Bridges movement is broadening to include a book study. Do you wish that you knew how to move forward and make a difference in our society today? Are you wondering what kind of a role you might play? This book study is for you!
Deepa Iyer is a South Asian American writer, lawyer, and advocate for justice. She has spent more than 15 years in policy advocacy and coalition building in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.
In her book, published in 2022, she developed a model of 10 roles people embody as they work for social justice in their communities and the world, called the social change map. Through exploration of the roles and questions for reflection and discussion, she helps each of us consider who we are and who we want to be.
You’re invited to this journey… the pilot group is meeting now, and we anticipate another group to follow.
